In Futures Forum, we integrate three different curricula from the Ontario Ministry of Education: Grade 10 English, Civics and Careers.
At the beginning of the semester, students took apart the each curriculum, put the ideas into their own words and wrote summary paragraphs so their friends and parents could understand what they would be learning.
Guided Inquires
All schools in the Futures Forum project are working on similar Guided Inquiries. Rather than breaking down our curriculum into units and projects, the Guided Inquires are carefully designed learning experiences that help students “uncover” the connections between what they are learning, their own lives, the Ontario curriculum and the world.
The common Guided Inquiries in FFP are: Blogging, Civic Mirror, Movie Trailer, Responding to an Oral Text, Persuasive Writing, and Job Interviews.

Learning Speak Glossary
Pedagogy is the study of instruction. Just as in any body of knowledge, there is jargon; specific terms that get bounced around that make sense to those in the know and can baffle and confuse those not in the know.
This is a glossary of pedagogical terms that apply to the SJAM FFP classroom because a) they are relevant to the design of the Futures Forum Project or because b) they have influenced Ms. Doelman's individual practice.
